🎳 What Drilling Costs

🛠️ Basic Drilling Service: $24.95 Per Ball

Basic Drilling Service is a standard drilling package built for the recreational bowler who wants to own their own ball. You pick a hand and a size from our chart, and the ball is drilled to those measurements.

Basic drilling is a paid service. If your cart shows $24.95 for each ball, that is the drilling you selected on the product page, not a fee added by mistake.

What Basic Drilling Is

  • Right hand or left hand
  • One of five preset sizes: X-Small, Small, Medium, Large, X-Large
  • Spans and hole sizes drilled to the published chart below

What Basic Drilling Is Not

  • It is not a custom fitting. We cannot measure your hand in person, so the fit cannot be guaranteed and you may need adjustments once the ball arrives.
  • It is not a custom layout, custom pitch, or PAP-based drilling. That is why we offer it on entry-level balls only: a higher performance ball deserves a layout built around your measurements, by a pro shop who has measured you.

📝 How to Order a Drilled Ball

  1. Open the product page for the ball you want.
  2. If the ball is one of the entry-level models we drill, a Drilling option appears on the page. Most balls do not offer it and ship undrilled.
  3. Choose your hand and size, for example "Right Hand, Basic Medium".
  4. Add the ball to your cart. Drilling appears as its own $24.95 line item tied to that ball.
  5. Add the optional Drilling Protection Plan if you want cracking coverage.
  6. Check out. If you do not want to pay for drilling, remove the drilling line and the ball ships undrilled.

⏱️ Processing & Shipping Time

  • Please allow 7 to 10 business days for a drilled bowling ball to ship.
  • Drilling may delay the shipping of other items on the same order.

↩️ Returns on Drilled Balls

  • All drilled ball sales are final. A drilled ball cannot be returned or exchanged unless the ball itself is defective.
  • The drilling service charge is non-refundable.
  • If the ball has a manufacturing defect, use Defect Claims.

🛡️ Drilling Protection Plan (DPP), $4.95

The Drilling Protection Plan is optional coverage for one thing: your new ball cracking while a pro shop drills it. Manufacturer warranties typically do not cover cracking during drilling, and the shop that drilled it is not held responsible for a defect in the ball. That gap is what this covers.

What the DPP Covers

  • A replacement ball, shipped free
  • Your drilling fee reimbursed as a BowlersMart gift certificate, up to $75 per claim, for the drilling labor only
  • If no replacement is available, a comparable ball or the original cost of the ball refunded as a gift certificate, at our discretion

What the DPP Does Not Cover

  • Fit changes, re-drills, plugging, or layout adjustments
  • Grips, slugs, etching, or other extras added during drilling
  • Manufacturer defects unrelated to drilling. Those go through Defect Claims.
  • Damage from use, such as cracks or chips after you start bowling with the ball

Conditions

  • Claims must be filed within 3 days of drilling.
  • The ball must be returned to BowlersMart for inspection, with an itemized receipt for the drilling fees.
  • Coverage is non-refundable once the ball has been received by the customer.

How to File a DPP Claim

  1. Contact us at 1-256-579-1039 or through our contact form within 3 days of the drilling.
  2. Reference your original order number and include the itemized drilling receipt.
  3. Return the ball to BowlersMart for inspection.
