Why No Two Bowling Balls Look Exactly Alike (Colors & Pit Holes)

Why Does My Ball Look Different From the Photo?

Reactive resin covers, including pearl and hybrid covers, are poured in batches. Pigments and pearl or mica swirl differently in each pour, giving every ball a unique pattern and exact shade.

Manufacturer photos often show a single sample ball or a computer-generated image. Screen and monitor color settings can also change how those colors look.

Printed spare balls, including licensed designs such as NFL, MLB, Marvel, and Star Wars, have artwork printed onto the ball. Print tone and placement can differ slightly from the product image.

Are Tiny Pit Holes Normal?

Yes. A few small surface pits in the coverstock (the ball's outer shell) are an expected result of molding. They do not affect how the ball rolls. If you would like cosmetic pits filled, a pro shop can help.

What If I Want to Return My Ball?

Our normal return policy still applies. BowlersMart accepts returns within 60 days, except for drilled balls and mystery items. Color variation or a few tiny pit holes do not prevent you from returning an undrilled, non-mystery ball. See our Return Policy for details.
